The Weight of Belief and the Second of Certainty

The Tyranny of the Intellect and the Return to Presence

The dissolution of form into the void

When the mind takes control of what should be the realm of spirituality, the infinite becomes trapped in the finite.

Yesterday, in the midst of a family conversation, I had the opportunity to observe this phenomenon in a stark manner. By opening up and showing a deep part of myself—that process and that instant of clarity that brought me certainty in this mental world—I could see how the gears of the intellect operate. Hovering over the table was a debate surrounding a famous book on superconsciousness and near-death experiences, written by a surgeon.

Observing the dynamics of the chat, I realized something profoundly revealing: the immense need of the human egoic mind to seek tangible proof to dare to believe in the intangible. There was a common stance in the room: that of a fully mental world that demands passing the infinite through its own filter. We want scientific proof to validate what cannot be measured, and in doing so, we remain driven by the classic posture of the mind: to believe or not to believe.

Facing the posture of the egoic mind stood the immensity of infinite consciousness. And there emerged the topic of past lives, the compendium of situations associated with them, and the famous wheel of reincarnations of Samsara.

The Immense Void and the Fear of Not Being

They were debating a book I hadn't read and a video I hadn't seen either. In that moment, instead of entering the dialectic of that world of beliefs typical of the egoic mind, I felt it was necessary to stop the noise. I understood that the true work, the most raw and beautiful, is exactly the opposite: to empty ourselves of beliefs and dogmas.

To enter and speak of Consciousness is to speak of that which the human intellect cannot comprehend. The body and the mind operate from finitude; from there, it is terrifying to understand that we are infinite, without space or time. That we are that immense void the ego fears to experience, because to do so, it would simply cease to exist.

But the ego does not understand that it has never truly existed, even though, in turn, it has always been everything.

Go inward and observe: who moves your hands? Who looks through your eyes? We are not speaking of nerve impulses or the brain. Who observes beyond your own gaze? Is it not an immense void that the individual self rushes to fill with beliefs, attachments, and identity to justify its existence? We fear Being Nothing, ignoring that right there, in that fertile Nothingness, all forms and their experiences are created.

Even so, what I experience, even this representation, is a minimal reflection of all that infinite that Is. I observe the consciousness that I am manifesting bodies from Nothingness; forms that in their essence are Consciousness itself living all experiences simultaneously. They are but a reflection and not the Whole, for it is Nothingness manifesting the Whole.

The Data Package and the Illusion of the Wheel

The consciousness-mind, in its creative power, revives in each body those beliefs it has decided to traverse. From my observation, I have arrived at a certainty: the more beliefs I release, the freer I am. My mind then acquires a greater capacity to encompass the experiences of consciousness; those that have always been there, but which it could never comprehend due to its own self-imposed barriers.

If Consciousness is Everything, it encompasses what we perceive as mind or no-mind, space and non-space, time and eternity. In Consciousness and in Nothingness, everything flows; there is no need to understand what Is, nor is there a need to reach any goal, because one already is in this eternal present.

There is no past to resolve. In consciousness, there are no reasons, there simply Is. If Consciousness is infinite and experiences everything in an eternal present, does the concept of past lives really exist? Could the wheel of Samsara—with its idea of punishment, linear learning, and evolution—be another invention of a mind that needs to measure time to feel it has a purpose? What if experience is simply experience, free of karmic debts?

Evidently, there are many things in this world that lead us to affirm we have had past lives. But, looked at with perspective, when a body dies and that Being expands anew into its totality, what happens to that dense data package we call the mind?

That package, built on beliefs and attachments, possesses a weight that ties it to the illusion of matter. If our mind believes in past lives and karmic debts to settle, that data package will seek a perfect mental field to integrate with. It would operate almost like a parasitation in a suitable host, transmitting past images and beliefs anew, and it would immediately claim those experiences as its own. Often, these data packages detach from the transmitter and we receive them; other times, they are left orphaned and adhere to a compatible consciousness-mind.

The Path of Least Resistance

This is where the urgency of releasing beliefs and attachments lies, but not from the "should Be," but from Feeling. From a full awareness of the beliefs to which I attach myself to continue living in the mind.

When we decide to fit into the "should be"—I should be less mental, I should be more spiritual—it is still the egoic mind wanting to take control of its own process. The void of beliefs is the best silence for consciousness to manifest itself free of guilt, shame, and debts.

The key is the full acceptance that we control absolutely nothing. And if I accept and flow with what I am, removing the "shoulds," I find the path of least resistance. And the path of least resistance is always the one that brings the least suffering.

The mind is not the enemy; it is simply the tool that, in its limitation, believes it holds the steering wheel of our existence. Fighting it to try to dominate the process of consciousness only generates friction, and in that resistance lies the root of human pain.

Because there comes an instant when Consciousness simply bursts in. It is a second so powerful, so absolute, that it erases everything. In that fraction of time, it grants you the certainty of all that Is. And at that precise moment, the egoic mind has nothing to do. It has no jurisdiction. It is simply erased before the immensity of the Being.

The Final Inquiry

To peek into that second of certainty, it is enough to ask ourselves the fundamental questions and sustain the silence they leave in their wake:

  • That which observes and looks from behind my eyes, is it my brain, an impulse, or is it something I would call I?
  • That which I call I, which observes everything, does it have a form? Is it something? Does it have light, does it have a scent?
  • That which observes through this body, is it finite or infinite?
  • That which observes, can it feel resentment, or is resentment merely an experience that, once felt, fades away?
  • What is left of me when I am stripped of beliefs? Am I, then, my beliefs?

In knowing that I Am, the dramas, the debts, the trials, and the need to want to understand everything are erased. One flows, fully, in gratitude.

Because between experience and Experiences, what always remains, exists, and is, is Presence.

Thank you for accompanying me in reading this intimate process. My only purpose in undressing these reflections is to offer a mirror in which we can look at ourselves together, to help us dismantle the most painful of our illusions: the belief that we are separated from our shadow, from the world and, above all, from love itself.

This recognition, however, is not exhausted in these lines. If this story has touched a fiber inside you, I invite you to continue this journey through the sounds of my music, or to immerse yourself in the pages of my book. There, this same philosophy abandons words to take on other textures, other melodies, designed to accompany you on your own return home. Because in the end, whether through ink on paper, a chord strummed in the silence, or the full acceptance of our fear, we are all walking back to the same ocean.
